Interest in Bitcoin Ordinals continues to grow, so here’s a general overview of how to trade them on Magic Eden…

1. Go to Magic Eden and click on “BTC” at the top-left of the screen.
2. Connect your Bitcoin Xverse wallet, approve the connection, and you’re ready to go.

Some of the things I like to look at when analyzing Bitcoin Ordinals projects on Magic Eden are…

1. Total Supply – tells you how many BTC Ordinals are in the collection.
2. Owners – tells you how many unique wallets hold Ordinals from the collect which is a measure of decentralization.
3. Listed – tells you how many are currently listed. A low the number listed is typically an indicator of a healthy project.
4. Range – The range of Bitcoin Ordinals inscription numbers in the collection. Low inscription numbers tend to trade at a premium because they were early.

The Bitcoin Ordinals protocol was created in early 2023. It allows individual SATs to be inscribed with a unique identifier and transacted with extra data attached. That data is often “image/webp” but can also be video and and other content types.
